Meet Kelly Williamson, LCSW
Kelly is a licensed clinical social worker with 15+ years’ experience helping couples. As a military spouse, she has a special interest in helping couples in any branch of service navigate their unique relationship challenges. In addition to her master’s degree, Kelly has additional, specialized training in in trauma-informed therapy and is in the process of obtaining her Certified Dialectical Behavior Training, which is beneficial for anxiety, addiction, and more. She also has experience working with autism, ADHD, depression, and other mental health disorders. As a long-term social worker and couples’ therapist, she prioritizes helping clients feel safe and comfortable enough to be vulnerable and share their histories.
“My style is professional, but approachable and strength-based. I like to use humor in my sessions when appropriate and I truly enjoy getting to know people. I’m inquisitive and my style is very thought-provoking. I am fair to both individuals involved in a couple and will ask challenging and thought-provoking questions that can assist them in self-discovery of their strengths, weaknesses, and unhealthy cycles.
For a couple to get better, both parties have to become vulnerable with me, but most importantly with each other. Past wrongdoings and hurts may have to be placed to the side initially in order to set the stage for a safe space for healing and reconnection. For couples to get better, it takes deeply challenging emotional work, compromise, and trust in the process.”
