Meet Victoria Whitfield, LMFT
Victoria Whitfield is an LMFT with 10 years of helping couples and families, with a focus on helping clients to manage symptoms of depression or anxiety that result from life transitions, relationship concerns, or past traumas. She supports clients to build present-moment tools that help with managing the challenges of life. In addition to her master’s degree, she has training and experience in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy, The Developmental Model, sex therapy, acceptance and commitment, and harm reduction. Victoria is an experienced and caring therapist able to help all couples navigate relationship and attachment difficulties.
“My work with couples often focuses on creating a safe space where each partner feels comfortable to be vulnerable and where vulnerability is viewed as a strength. Often couples get stuck in relationship cycles that push them further apart, create conflict, or touch upon unresolved pain or fractures of trust. I work with couples on communicating their needs and being more accessible and responsive to one another. We also work through healthy ways of handling conflict, improving connection, and deepening emotional intimacy.
In the past, I’ve worked with individuals recovering from addiction, couples, and families in distress, and provided in-home counseling to adolescents, and families of at-risk youth. I have also provided individual and couples therapy services to those with multiple presenting issues in private practice.”
